Nowadays more and more users are moving over to laptops and whilst they do have a lot going for them are they really a good choice?
Laptops
For
- They are mobile.
- They are lightweight.
- They are relatively inexpensive.
Against
Because they are mobile, they are more prone to theft and damage through handling.
They are slower than desktops.
They are prone to overheating.
Expensive to repair due to non-interchangeable parts that are unique to different makes/models.
Smaller Keyboard/screen can make it more difficult to operate in comparison with a desktop.
"Netbooks" do not usually come with a CD/DVD rom, making it more challenging to install software and/or to reload operating system after catastrophic failure.
